From T-shirts grew my own brand, 'čujić.studios' (also valid without 'studios'), where I can realize myself and you can be your true self. A brand that can and does support the important work of the foundation.
Here, I'd like to reminisce with you, looking back at some past drops:
Rescue the Rescued – already in 2023, I addressed the devastating consequences of the emotionally charged and dangerous mass import of dogs from abroad, under the guise of animal welfare, and shaped it into a design to raise public awareness.
Many dogs end up in great distress if they don't live up to the sales promise of being a poor, grateful street dog, because the dog market in Germany (German Dog Industries) has long been oversaturated, even with so-called animal welfare dogs. Many associations are unable, and due to a lack of capacity, might also be unable, to take back dogs that don't get along in their new families. Since the image of dogs and the attitude towards animals in our society is distorted and linked to utopian expectations, it is fundamentally worth considering to what extent we are able to help extensively in other countries by selling distressed dogs domestically, or whether local help would not be much more sensible to prevent suffering from arising in the first place and to address the root causes of the problems. Especially on social media, these dogs are often advertised as emotional need fulfillers, without professional assessment or honest consideration of the dogs' needs. Their needs are not limited to human affection or the subjective interpretation of love towards the dog.
Socially conspicuous 2023 – dogs are scolded who do not fit into the tight corset that we have laced around their behavior, which we consider appropriate. Psychotropic drugs are not far off when dogs behave outside our comfort zones and we consider the conflict too unpleasant. But problems are known to grow in the dark or disappear there. In Germany, healthy dogs are killed because we consume and produce dogs like commodities. Socially conspicuous are those who oppose a system that profits from the truth remaining hidden.
